His Majesty’s Red Boat leading the regatta to Ode-Itsekiri (Big Warri)

The Red Boat of His Majesty Leads a Living Tribute to Heritage and Unity

The Red Boat of His Majesty, Ògíamè Atuwatse III, CFR, today led a resplendent regatta to the ancestral Ode-Itsekiri island, fondly known as Big Warri. In a spectacular procession featuring a vibrant fleet of vessels, each adorned with distinctive colors and regalia representing diverse Itsekiri communities, families, and groups, the boats sailed in unison, all paying a living tribute to the unity, heritage, and timeless bond of their shared ancestry.

This majestic waterway journey reaffirmed the sovereignty and enduring legacy of the revered Warri throne, while illuminating the vision of a future of progress, unity, and enlightened leadership for generations to come.

The regatta’s arrival at Ode-Itsekiri also marked the commencement of a poignant session of homage-paying, as dignitaries, chiefs, and subjects alike gathered to pay respects to the ancestral heritage and the revered throne of the Olu of Warri kingdom. This solemn ritual, steeped in tradition and cultural significance, continues to serve as a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of the Iwere people and their king.

The 4th Coronation Anniversary Events continue tomorrow as we mark the Anniversary day with a rich show of our culture on the sacred grounds of Aghofen. All events of the coronation anniversary have been live streaming on the Olu of Warri YouTube channel. Kindly follow the events tomorrow with the links that will be provided.
